Windsor House

KIPO were appointed by TfL to complete the discrimination and protection coordination study for Windsor House. The study covered Windsor House power systems relating to the main LV switch-panel 2 including the UK Power-networks incoming power, downstream electrical distribution and the critical infrastructure served from the generator and UPS systems.

Our services and solutions included:

  • Established fault levels at key points throughout the electrical installation

  • Verified whether the equipment installed has adequate withstand capabilities for the fault level present at the point of installation

  • Established protection discrimination between series circuit breakers

  • Established the essential items of plant, including the incoming transformer, LV switch-panel, generators and UPS

  • Ensured applied settings were appropriate to ensure fault disconnection in accordance with the time limits mandated by the IEE Wiring regulations 17th edition [as amended]; BS7671 observed
